Prepare your console and account, then check official download and launch notices.
Confirm your platform
Rockstar’s GTA VI website currently lists 19 November 2026, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Check the official page again before making plans around the date.
Before downloading
- Match your purchase to your console and account region.
- Review the seller’s delivery format and terms, and keep your receipt.
- Check your console’s available storage against the download size displayed by the platform.
- Keep account recovery details current and use the security options offered by your platform.
When your platform offers the download
- Sign into the account that owns the game.
- Use a stable connection and power supply during installation.
- Follow official platform instructions if the download is unavailable or fails.
- Check Rockstar and your platform for launch-time or update notices.
A downloaded preload does not necessarily mean the game is unlocked. This checklist does not promise a preload date, regional unlock time, file size or PC launch schedule.
